Actor Allu Arjun’s regular bail plea in connection with the tragic stampede during the Pushpa 2 screening at Sandhya Theatre was heard in Hyderabad’s Nampally District Court on Monday. The hearing centered around the death of a 35-year-old woman who died in the stampede. The police filed a counter-affidavit opposing the actor’s bail request.

Allu Arjun’s lawyer, Senior Counsel Niranjan Reddy, argued for granting the actor regular bail, emphasizing his client’s position. On the other hand, the Public Prosecutor demanded that the court dismiss the plea. After both sides presented their arguments, the court decided to adjourn the case and announced that it would deliver a verdict on January 3, 2025.

Court Hearing and Bail Proceedings

The Chikkadapally police had already filed a counter-affidavit against Allu Arjun‘s regular bail plea. The actor’s legal team presented arguments in his defense, asking for regular bail following the interim bail granted earlier. The case, drawing significant attention due to the tragic incident at the theatre, will see its final judgment on January 3, 2025.

The Nampally District Court is now set to decide on the actor’s regular bail request, considering the counter-affidavit presented by the police and the defense’s arguments.

Pawan Kalyan Defends Allu Arjun

In the midst of the controversy, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan publicly defended Allu Arjun. Pawan Kalyan criticized the way the incident was blown out of proportion, saying it could have been resolved easily but instead turned into a “huge disaster.”

Kalyan praised the leadership qualities of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, acknowledging his impartial approach in handling the case. He pointed out that Reddy had supported the film industry by regulating ticket prices and benefiting shows. However, when it came to law enforcement, Reddy acted firmly and fairly, showing that no one is above the law, not even a film star.

Regarding the ongoing case, Pawan Kalyan stated that he would not have disputed the case if he had faced similar legal consequences. He also dismissed rumors that Allu Arjun was arrested for forgetting Revanth Reddy’s name, calling them baseless. Pawan Kalyan noted that even veteran actor Chiranjeevi used to attend film screenings with fans but took precautions to avoid recognition.
