Jana Nayagan Is Not a Scene-by-Scene Remake? Anil Ravipudi Breaks Silence on Vijay’s Film

Tamil superstar Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has been in the spotlight ever since reports suggested that it was inspired by Nandamuri Balakrishna’s blockbuster Bhagavanth Kesari. While the makers had already confirmed that they had officially acquired the remake rights, director Anil Ravipudi has now revealed what actually made it into the film.

In a recent interview, Anil Ravipudi clarified that Jana Nayagan is not a faithful remake of Bhagavanth Kesari. He said the makers purchased the official remake rights but retained only a few key sequences from the original film. The rest of the screenplay, characters, and narrative were developed independently, making it a largely fresh story rather than a scene-by-scene adaptation.

The director also addressed speculation about his involvement in the Tamil project. Anil Ravipudi stated that he had no role in the creative development of Jana Nayagan. According to him, the filmmakers took the material forward on their own after securing the remake rights and crafted the film based on their own vision.

With Vijay’s Jana Nayagan set for release, Anil Ravipudi’s clarification has put an end to rumors surrounding the film’s connection with Bhagavanth Kesari. His comments make it clear that while the film draws inspiration from the Telugu blockbuster, audiences can expect a significantly different cinematic experience.
