Actor Naga Chaitanya has obtained interim relief from the Delhi High Court in a personality rights case involving the unauthorized use of his name, image, and likeness across various digital platforms.
The case was heard by Justice Jyoti Singh after Senior Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, representing the actor, informed the court that multiple websites were allegedly exploiting Naga Chaitanya’s identity by linking his name with explicit search terms to attract online traffic and promote objectionable content. The court was also presented with instances of unauthorized merchandise featuring the actor’s image and likeness.
Taking serious note of the allegations, the Delhi High Court issued summons to the defendants and directed them to file their responses. The actor has also sought a dynamic injunction to prevent the creation and operation of new infringing websites and URLs that misuse his personality rights.
The matter is expected to be taken up for further hearing after the defendants submit their replies.
On the professional front, Naga Chaitanya is currently working on the mystical thriller Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Dandu. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
