Vivek Athreya Planning Explosive ‘Balayya – Mohanlal’ Multistarrer?

A surprising and exciting combination may soon become a reality in Telugu cinema. Acclaimed director Vivek Athreya is reportedly planning a massive project with Nandamuri Balakrishna, and the latest buzz suggests that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal could play a crucial role in the film.

The project has been in discussion for quite some time after reports claimed that Vivek Athreya narrated a powerful mass script to Balakrishna. While the collaboration itself surprised many, the addition of Mohanlal is now making the film even more intriguing.

Sources say Athreya initially designed the story with Balakrishna in dual roles. However, the director later explored the possibility of introducing another senior star for one of the key characters. That role is now reportedly being considered for Mohanlal, whose presence could elevate the film to a pan-South level.

Known for balancing emotions and commercial elements effectively, Vivek Athreya is said to be preparing a script that presents Balayya in a never-before-seen mass avatar. At the same time, Mohanlal’s role is expected to carry strong emotional and narrative weight.

Mohanlal already shares a strong connection with Telugu audiences through films like Janatha Garage. His combination scenes with Balakrishna could become one of the major highlights if the casting works out.

Interestingly, Balakrishna and Mohanlal briefly appeared together years ago in Gandeevam. However, fans have never seen the two legends share full-fledged screen space in a feature film. This project could finally make that happen.

At present, both actors are busy with their respective commitments. Balakrishna is occupied with films directed by Gopichand Malineni and Koratala Siva, while Vivek Athreya is also said to be considering another project with Ravi Teja before taking this film onto floors.

If everything falls into place, this could easily become one of the most awaited multi-starrers in South Indian cinema.
