'Mowgli': Roshan Kanakala, 'Colour Photo' director join forces for a forest-based film

It is said that Mowgli, the protagonist of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’, is a complex and fascinating character known for courage, bravery, resourcefulness and more. Interestingly, ‘Mowgli’ is the title of budding actor Roshan Kanakala’s next.

Writer-director Sandeep Raj of ‘Colour Photo’ fame is helming ‘Mowgli’, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory. The banner is also producing Teja Sajja’s ‘Mirai’, another ‘hatke’ film much like ‘Mowgli’.

Kaala Bhairava, the son of MM Keeravani, is setting the songs to tune for the Summer 2025 release. Rama Maruti M, who has previously worked in the cinematography departments of ‘RRR’ and the two ‘Baahubali’ movies, has been roped in.

For both Roshan and his director, ‘Mowgli’ is a crucial project. The former has to undo the effect of the disastrous performance of his debut movie ‘Bubblegum’ on his career. And the latter must prove that he is not a one-film wonder. “Will try my level best to give you THE BEST. Your blessings and wishes are much needed,” Sandeep wrote on social media.
