Mas Ka Das is Vishwak Sen’s ambitious project ‘Gami’. Produced by Karthik Sabreesh on Karthik’s Kult Creations directed by Vidyadhar Kaghya, Chandni Chaudhary is the female lead. This movie was crowdfunded. Presenting V Celluloid. The film’s already released promotional content has created huge buzz with tremendous response. The film will hit the screens on March 8. In this context, heroine Chandini Chaudhary shared the special features of ‘Gami’ in a press conference.
Isn’t ‘Gami’ a long journey? When did you join the project?
I have been in the Gami project since day one. When Manu made the film, director Vidyadhar was introduced. Gami means Seeker.. Gami is one who reaches his desired destination. Varanasi, Kumbh Mela, Kashmir, Himalayas… We shot this movie in real locations. I am the only girl in our team. They all go in a bus and shoot till sunset. There were very challenging conditions in the shooting. Especially since there is no access to the washroom, even water is not drinkable. We shot like this for almost a month. The stunts shown in this are real. Cracks occur when walking on layers of frozen ice. Falling down by mistake is life threatening. At such a time, I threw away my luggage and jumped and got out lucky. The journey of this movie was like an adventure.
Why did you choose this challenging route when the heroine had the opportunity to choose the route of commercial films?
Can do commercial films. I did too. But he entered the film industry with a passion. I can’t control myself when I hear some stories. Even when I heard the story of ‘Gami’ I definitely wanted to be a part of it. This is a movie that gave me a lot of satisfaction. After Color Photo got recognized as a serious performer. I am focusing on how I can improve my work.
Did you think this movie will take five years when you heard Gami?
Gami knows it will take time. Because the story to be told is in a big canvas. We went with limited crew. Moreover, the director Vidyadhar is very particular about the craft. He tries until he gets what he wants. This is a film shot in very different weather conditions. This will definitely take time. That’s why the visuals came out so amazing because we took so much time. When I saw the trailer on the IMAX screen, I cried tears of joy that my hard work was rewarded.
How is your role in Gami?
In this, the stories of my and Vishwak’s characters merge with each other. How to merge should be seen on the screen. Gami climax is fantastic. I believe that everyone will like it. A movie like Gami has not come out in Telugu till now. If a film like Gami works out, more such wonderful stories will follow.
How was it working with Vishwak?
Vishwak is a great actor. They worked hard for this movie. Working with him was a wonderful experience.
How was the journey of ten years in the industry?
Completing ten years in the industry is truly unbelievable. When you enter the industry, you don’t even know how to speak. I have learned many things in this journey. Something must be done without stopping here. Sometimes we have options. Then do what you like. Sometimes there is no option. Then do what is. Any work should be done. Completing ten years is a big deal in my view.
What kind of roles do you like to play?
Love to do all kinds of roles. I do roles where I don’t feel uncomfortable.
About new projects?
This year, four films in which I acted will be released. Producers will inform the details. Also another season of Jhansi web series is coming.
