Vijay Meets Families of Karur Stampede Victims in Mahabalipuram

Nearly a month after the tragic Karur rally stampede that claimed 41 lives and left several others injured, actor and TVK founder Thalapathy Vijay has met with the families of the victims in a private consolation gathering.

According to reports, Vijay arranged accommodation for the families by booking 50 rooms at a resort in Mahabalipuram, near Chennai. Out of the 41 families invited, 30 families have arrived and are being hosted at the venue.

Vijay is said to be meeting each family individually, offering his condolences and spending time listening to their experiences and concerns. Organizers have ensured that the event is conducted peacefully and safely, with adequate arrangements in place to prevent any untoward incidents.

This meeting follows the ₹20 lakh compensation that Vijay’s political outfit, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), had earlier transferred to each bereaved family through RTGS.

The actor-politician’s gesture is being seen as a personal effort to extend empathy and support to those affected by the Karur tragedy, which remains one of the most heartbreaking incidents of his political journey so far.
