Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday (July 22nd) unveiled a significant boost for Andhra Pradesh, which the BJP governs in alliance with its superior partners, the TDP and the Jana Sena Party. The Modi government allocated a special package of Rs 15,000 Cr in the Union Budget for the State, heralding a new chapter in the Centre-AP relations.
Amaravati Gets a Push:
The Rs 15,000 Cr package is seen as a major step towards realizing the dream of Amaravati.
Immediate Funding:
The entire Rs 15,000 Cr will be released in the current financial year, contingent on project progress.
Long-term Commitment:
The Centre has pledged continued financial support for Andhra Pradesh in the coming years.
Industrial Corridors:
A portion of the Visakhapatnam-Chennai-Orvakal-Hyderabad industrial corridor will pass through AP. The Hyderabad-Bengaluru industrial corridor will also partially cover AP.
Focus on Backward Areas:
Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and north Andhra districts will enjoy a special focus.
