Suriya 46: Reports Suggest Bhavani Sre Joins Cast of Suriya’s Bilingual Film

Kollywood star Suriya is currently filming his much-awaited Tamil-Telugu bilingual project, tentatively titled Suriya 46. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film has already created major buzz after the makers unveiled the first-look poster on Suriya’s birthday. Backed by Sithara Entertainments, the film reportedly carries a massive budget of over Rs 300 crore. Now, reports have added more excitement, claiming that Bhavani Sre has joined the film’s cast in a significant role.

Bhavani Sre Likely Playing a Key Role

According to industry sources, Bhavani Sre, who gained acclaim for her role in Viduthalai, has already completed one round of shooting for Suriya 46. Reports say she will return to the sets in the coming weeks for the next schedule. While the team hasn’t officially confirmed her role, insiders suggest that she will portray a fresh and previously unseen character type.

Bhavani’s brother, GV Prakash Kumar, is composing the music for the film. This collaboration marks his second project with Suriya after Soorarai Pottru and third with Venky Atluri, following Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar. GV Prakash also composed the score for Rebel, which served as Mamitha Baiju’s Tamil debut—she plays the female lead in Suriya 46.

Star-Studded Lineup and Top Technical Talent

The ensemble cast features Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon, and Raadhika Sarathkumar. Suriya 46 marks Raveena Tandon’s return to Tamil cinema after 24 years, with her last appearance in Aalavandhan (2001). Director Venky Atluri has described the film as a “happy family entertainer” that explores deep human emotions. He also hinted that Suriya’s character may carry shades similar to Sanjay Ramaswamy from Ghajini.

The film brings together a skilled technical team, including Nimish Ravi as cinematographer and Navin Nooli as editor, adding to the film’s visual and narrative strength.

Production Progress and Bhavani Sre’s Upcoming Films

The crew began filming in June 2025 and recently wrapped up the second shooting schedule. They are reportedly aiming for a summer 2026 theatrical release. Meanwhile, Bhavani Sre is also involved in other projects such as Kalidas 2 with Bharath, Hotspot 2, and an untitled film by Yaathisai director Dharani Rajendran, featuring Sasikumar, Sshivada, Kishore, and Samuthirakani.

With a growing list of strong performers and a high-profile production team, Suriya 46 continues to attract attention as one of the most awaited Indian films of 2026.
