A Noble Initiative for Rural Vision Care

In a remarkable step toward community healthcare, Sankara Nethralaya MESU – Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Sanjosh Foundation, has launched a free mega eye camp for residents of Mulugu district. The initiative aims to provide comprehensive eye screenings and cataract surgeries to underprivileged communities, ensuring that quality vision care reaches even the remotest villages.

The campaign’s official poster was unveiled by key district authorities in a series of launches held across Mulugu:

Each of these dignitaries commended the initiative and expressed their full support for the upcoming eye health program.

Program Details and Venue

The Free Eye Camp will be conducted at:
📍 Girijana Bhavan, Eturnagaram, Mulugu District
🗓️ From October 22, 2025, to October 30, 2025
The camp will include:
Free eye check-ups and screenings
Cataract identification and surgeries
Distribution of medicines and spectacles
On-site surgical services via Mobile Eye Surgical Units (MESU buses)

About MESU (Mobile Eye Surgical Unit)

The MESU (Mobile Eye Surgical Unit) is an advanced mobile operation theater designed by Sankara Nethralaya to perform eye surgeries in rural areas. The buses are fully equipped with sterile environments, surgical instruments, and recovery facilities bringing hospital-grade care directly to villages.
