The much-awaited trailer of Sikandar, Salman Khan’s big Eid release, is finally out. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is set to hit theatres on March 30, 2025, coinciding with Eid and other regional festivals like Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. The trailer offers a glimpse of a full-on action-packed entertainer with intense fight sequences, powerful dialogues, and a touch of emotional drama.
A Glimpse of the Trailer
The three-minute-38-second trailer opens with Salman’s photo on a ‘Wanted’ board, hinting at his character’s mysterious past. Soon, we see him being referred to by multiple names—Rajkot ka Raja, Raja Sahab, Sanjay Sahab, and finally Sikandar Sahab. The trailer showcases him as a relentless fighter for justice, taking on Sathyaraj, who plays a corrupt politician.
Alongside Salman, Rashmika Mandanna plays his love interest, while Kajal Aggarwal and Sathyaraj appear in pivotal roles. The trailer is loaded with nostalgic dialogue delivery, reminiscent of classic 80s and 90s Hindi films, paired with slick action sequences.
Emotional Storyline with a Family Message
In an interview with PTI, Murugadoss revealed that Sikandar offers more than just action. He shared that the film carries a heartfelt family message, highlighting the importance of spending time with loved ones amid life’s daily hustle. He also compared the emotional arc to his previous hit Ghajini, stating that Sikandar features a husband-and-wife love story that adds emotional depth to the massy action film.
US Pre-Sales Reveal Low Interest
Despite the buzz in India, Sikandar is struggling in the US market. According to trade reports, the advance ticket sales in the US have been surprisingly low. The film has only managed to sell 878 tickets across 383 locations, generating a mere 14,222 dollars in pre-sales. This means that, on average, only one ticket per show has been sold across 900 screenings, raising concerns about Salman’s declining global appeal.
