Renu Desai Sparks Buzz With Fresh Tollywood Comeback

Tollywood actress and former filmmaker Renu Desai is once again making headlines, this time with what appears to be a genuine re-entry into cinema. After her brief appearance in Tiger Nageswar Rao, the actress stayed away from the spotlight for nearly two years due to health-related issues. With the film also failing to create an impact, Renu chose to step back and focus on recovery.

Now, she seems healthier, calmer, and visibly excited about returning to work. Sharing photos from the launch of her next project, she wrote, “And the పదహారు రోజుల పండుగ fun begins,” hinting at the start of a lively journey.

In the pictures, Renu appears radiant in a bright red saree, smiling and taking a selfie with the team during the pooja ceremony. The upcoming film, titled “16 Days of Festival,” features producer D. S. Rao’s son Krishna Dammalapati as the lead actor, with Sai Kiran Adivasi directing the project. The cast includes a vibrant mix of talents such as Anasuya Bharadwaj, Krishnadudu, Parvatheesham, Kerintha Bhavana, and Satya Krishna. Based on the cheerful atmosphere seen in the launch photos, the film may have a comedic tone, though no official confirmation has been given.

With the project launching today, detailed information is still under wraps. However, a group selfie featuring the lead actors, Anasuya, and Renu has already gone viral on social media, further fueling excitement about her return.

Renu Desai has acted in only four films so far Badri (2000), Tamil film James Pandu, Johnny, and Tiger Nageswar Rao, marking a comeback after nearly two decades. This new film will be her fifth. At 43, Renu looks content and genuinely happy to be back on a film set, signaling a confident new chapter in her Tollywood journey.
