Ranbir Kapoor has officially confirmed that Brahmāstra Part Two: Dev is happening. However, the much-awaited sequel will take some time to begin production. The reason for the delay is director Ayan Mukerji’s commitment to War 2, an action-packed film starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR. Ranbir assured fans that Brahmāstra 2 is not shelved but will move forward once Mukerji finishes his current project.

Ayan Mukerji’s Vision for ‘Brahmāstra 2’

Mukerji has been planning the sequel for years, and the storyline is already mapped out. However, his immediate focus is on War 2, which is expected to release in 2025. Once that is complete, he will begin pre-production on Brahmāstra 2. The director has previously stated that the second and third parts of the Brahmāstra trilogy will be even bigger in scale and ambition than the first film.

Box Office Success and Sequel Plans

Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva was released in 2022 and became a massive hit, earning close to Rs 400 crore worldwide. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, with Shah Rukh Khan making a special appearance. It introduced audiences to the concept of the Astraverse, a cinematic universe inspired by Indian mythology.

In April 2023, Mukerji revealed that Brahmāstra 2 would release in December 2026, followed by Brahmāstra 3 in 2027. The two sequels will be developed together to maintain continuity and expand the storyline.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Other Projects

Apart from Brahmāstra 2, Ranbir Kapoor has a packed schedule. He will be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he is rumored to play Lord Ram. Additionally, he is reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love and War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. This will be Ranbir’s second collaboration with Bhansali after Saawariya. The film is set to release in March 2026.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for Alpha, which is expected to hit theaters this Christmas.

Fans eagerly waiting for Brahmāstra 2 will need patience, but Ranbir’s confirmation ensures that the Astraverse will continue to expand in the coming years.
