Fans of Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming movie They Call Him OG just got an interesting update. Actor-director Rahul Ravindran revealed that the team removed a big part of his role from the final cut. His revelation comes just days before the film’s grand release and adds even more buzz to the project.
Rahul Ravindran Opens Up About His Trimmed Role
Rahul Ravindran recently replied to a fan on social media who spotted him in the trailer alongside Prakash Raj. He confirmed that he appears in the film but shared that editors cut most of his scenes. Rahul explained that he originally played a very exciting role but the team trimmed several portions to improve the story’s flow.
He said, “Directors do whatever it takes to make the film better. Many factors go into these choices. It is completely understandable.” His words reflect his maturity and his respect for director Sujeeth’s vision.
About They Call Him OG
Director Sujeeth created They Call Him OG as a high-budget Telugu action crime drama. The film stars Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera, a gangster who returns to Mumbai after ten years to hunt down crime boss Omi Bhau, played by Emraan Hashmi. The production team spent around Rs 250 crore on the film, making it one of the most expensive Indian movies of the year.
The project faced several delays because of Pawan Kalyan’s political schedule, but the crew wrapped up filming in July 2025. The makers now prepare for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025.
Massive Buzz Ahead of Release
Fans are creating huge hype for OG. One fan recently bought a special 1 a.m. benefit show ticket for Rs 1,29,999, far above its original price of Rs 800. The organizers plan to donate the proceeds to Pawan Kalyan’s political party, Jana Sena. The Telangana government also approved a temporary ticket price hike for the first ten days to handle the soaring demand.
Rahul Ravindran’s Presence Still Adds Value
Rahul Ravindran continues to shine as both an actor and a filmmaker in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He directed the National Award-winning film Chi La Sow and acted in hits like Sita Ramam and Shyam Singha Roy. Even with a shorter role in OG, he still brings weight to the film’s already star-studded cast.
