Speaking to the media at the SIIMA red carpet, Prasanth Varma called this project his “most rebellious film” yet. He confirmed that the team stands fully ready to begin shooting and said, “Be prepared, whenever the actor gives the dates, we are ready to shoot.” He did not mention Prabhas’ name, but his words clearly pointed to the Pan-India star.

This statement ends months of speculation that the film might have been shelved. Earlier reports claimed that Prabhas already completed a look test in Hyderabad. Actress Bhagyashri Borse is likely to play the female lead, though the makers have not issued an official confirmation yet.

What We Know About The Project

The makers have tentatively titled the film Raka, and reports claim it tells a mythological fantasy based on the Bakasura legend. The project forms a part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), which began with HanuMan. Hombale Films, the reputed production house that signed a three-film deal with Prabhas, will bankroll this ambitious film.

Prabhas’ Busy Schedule

Prabhas currently shoots for The Raja Saab and Fauji, keeping his schedule packed. Once he completes these two films, he will dedicate his time to his silver jubilee film Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. After finishing Spirit, he will move on to Salaar 2 and Kalki 2.
