Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad recently shared a deeply emotional chapter of his life, the sudden death of his daughter Gayathri in October 2024. In a heartfelt interview, he revealed that Prabhas, the Young Rebel Star, gave him the strength to face that heartbreaking time. “Prabhas is truly a gem of a person. He stood by me and gave me the courage I needed during those painful days,” he said.

Gayathri, who was just 38 years old, complained of chest pain on the night of October 4. The family rushed her to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, where doctors tried to save her. Despite their efforts, she died around 12:40 a.m. on October 5. Her death left Rajendra Prasad devastated.
Soon after, Prabhas made a rare public visit to Rajendra Prasad’s home in Hyderabad. He walked in, hugged him tightly, held his hands, and sat beside him. The two spoke for some time near a photo of Gayathri. Prabhas’s personal presence offered emotional comfort during a time of deep sorrow.
“Stay Strong,” Prabhas Told Me: Rajendra Prasad Shares Touching Moment
During the interview, Rajendra Prasad recalled the exact words Prabhas said to him: “God willed it so, and we can’t change that. But don’t lose heart. We all still need you. You must stay strong.” These words touched Rajendra Prasad deeply and gave him the strength to carry on. He also shared that Prabhas often messages him in a light tone, saying, “Sir, whenever I get bored, I just watch your movies” This playful bond shows the love and respect they share.
Public Controversy Adds to Emotional Strain
Even as he copes with personal loss, Rajendra Prasad now faces criticism for making inappropriate comments during director SV Krishna Reddy’s birthday event. He joked about comedian Ali, actresses Nirosha and Roja, and actor Murali Mohan, which triggered backlash on social media.
Instead of apologizing immediately, he defended himself, saying, “If you don’t understand me, that’s your fate.” This response drew more criticism. But later, he expressed regret and promised to speak respectfully from now on. “The world has changed, and I must adapt. I learned from NTR to address everyone with respect, and I will do that until my last breath,” he said.
