Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the holy shrine of Srisailam on Thursday, accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The presence of both top state leaders alongside the Prime Minister throughout the visit drew significant attention in political and devotional circles.

Modi arrived at Bhramaramba Guest House by helicopter from Kurnool and later proceeded towards the Gangadhara Mandapam through the Nandi Mandapam Circle. The route from Nandi Mandapam to Gangadhara Mandapam was lined with nearly 8,000 devotees dressed in saffron robes, chanting “Har Har Mahadev!” and welcoming the Prime Minister with great enthusiasm.

At the temple’s main entrance, Vedic priests extended a traditional welcome to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister with Poornakumbham, applying vibhuti and kumkum before leading them through the temple’s inner corridors.

The Prime Minister first offered prayers at the flagstaff (Dhvajastambham) and performed Shiva Sankalpam, followed by Ganapati Puja at the Ratnagarbha Ganapati shrine. He then offered Ekavara Rudrabhishekam, Bilwarchana, Pushparchana, and received Maha Mangala Harathi at the Jyotirlinga of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy, worshipping with deep devotion.

Later, he visited Mallikagundam, the spot where the sacred Saraswati River is believed to flow underground, and had a glimpse of the temple tower (Vimana). At the Bhramaramba Devi temple, the Prime Minister performed Kumkumarchana to the Sri Chakra consecrated by Adi Shankaracharya, offering traditional Shodashopachara Pooja rituals with great reverence.

Following this, PM Modi received the divine Harathi and blessings from Vedic scholars, who chanted Chaturveda Ashirvachanam and presented Tirtha Prasadam to him. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan later presented the Prime Minister with portraits of Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bhramaramba, along with sacred temple clothes (Shesha Vastras).

Interestingly, throughout the temple visit, both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan closely accompanied the Prime Minister but did not actively participate in the rituals a detail that caught the attention of many.

Another striking aspect of the visit was the absence of any BJP leaders during the entire tour, which has sparked discussion in political circles about the message it conveys.
