Tollywood producer Dil Raju strongly supported Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for offering powerful suggestions to revive the Telugu film industry. He welcomed the government’s efforts to enhance the cinema experience, especially for the common audience.
In his statement, Dil Raju praised Pawan Kalyan for demanding affordable food and beverages in cinema halls. He stated that this move would bring back average moviegoers to theatres. He urged the entire film industry to support this practical and much-needed step.
Industry Focuses on Ticketing and Theatrical Experience
Dil Raju highlighted how the audience prefers OTT platforms because films move to streaming platforms too quickly after their theatrical release. He called for a united decision to fix a minimum gap between a film’s release in theatres and its debut on OTT. He believes this step will remind people of the joy of watching movies on the big screen and boost footfalls in theatres.
Film Industry Must Work Together
Pawan Kalyan also suggested that filmmakers should approach the government only through the Film Chamber. Dil Raju completely agreed and said this approach will bring clarity, structure, and unity to their communication with the government. He encouraged all stakeholders in the Telugu film industry to move forward as a team.
Fighting Piracy Together
Dil Raju warned that piracy continues to hurt box office earnings. He called on the film industry to stand together and take firm action against piracy. He believes a united fight is the only way to protect cinema revenues and win back the audience.
Involving the Telangana Government
Dil Raju confirmed plans to take these important discussions to the Telangana government as well. He said the Producers Council will actively participate in efforts that aim to grow and protect Telugu cinema.
