Nayanthara’s ‘Annapoorani’ was released in theatres in December 2023. A few days later, it started streaming on Netflix. Owing to a court case, it was pulled down by Netflix. The film has been accused by a few Hindu organizations of offending the sentiments of the Hindu community.
The news is that, this August 9th, the film is making a comeback on OTT. But there is a twist. It won’t stream for the Indian viewership.
Simply South, a less-known OTT platform, will make Nayanthara’s controversial movie available for the foreign audience.
Nayanthara is doing several films these days: ‘Toxic’ starring Yash is just one of them. She is also doing ‘Test’ and ‘Mannangatti: Since 1960’ in Tamil, ‘Dear Students’ and a Gautam Menon-Mammootty film in Malayalam, and is playing a cameo in Manchu Vishnu’s ‘Kannappa’.
