The celebrated Telugu film ‘Minugurulu,’ which garnered numerous Nandi Awards and international accolades, was recently screened in the United States to commemorate its 10th anniversary since release.
Released in 2014, ‘Minugurulu’ features Ashish Vidyarthi, Suhasini Maniratnam, Raghubir Yadav, and Deepak Saroj, with Ayodhyakumar Krishnamsetty directing the socially impactful film. Notably, the movie received praise from industry stalwarts upon its initial release, with figures like Megastar Chiranjeevi, director Dasari Narayana Rao, Sukumar of ‘Pushpa’ fame, filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, and Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose endorsing its artistic and commercial values.

Its portrayal remains authentic and devoid of exaggeration.”
In an era where movies often fade quickly from memory, ‘Minugurulu’ has stood the test of time for a decade, as noted by one speaker at the event. Attendees at the screening praised the film’s tender approach and emphasized its portrayal of reality, highlighting the commendable efforts of NGOs working for visually impaired children.
