By TeluguFunda / May 2, 2026

Storyline

Kara follows a kind-hearted farmer (K. S. Ravikumar) who stands against a bank that cheats villagers and seizes their land. His estranged son (Dhanush), who once left the village chasing city dreams, returns planning to sell the land. After a personal loss, he realizes his mistake and turns into a Robin Hood-like figure to fight back and reclaim justice.

Positives

Strong and emotional performance by K. S. Ravikumar
Mamitha Baiju impresses despite limited screen time
Realistic rural visuals captured effectively

Negatives

Predictable, overused storyline
Weak and unengaging screenplay
Poor writing and direction
Dragging second half and excessive runtime
Lack of impactful or memorable moments

Technicalities

Cinematography by Theni Eswar is visually appealing
Music by G. V. Prakash Kumar fails to elevate the film
Editing by Sreejith Sarang could have been tighter, especially in the second half
Direction by Vignesh Raja lacks the grip seen in his earlier works

Rating : 2.75/5

Final Verdict

Kara ends up being a disappointing and forgettable film. Despite a solid performance from K. S. Ravikumar, the film suffers due to its routine story, weak execution, and lack of engaging moments. It may not satisfy even hardcore fans of Dhanush.
