The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 in Goa was a proud moment for Telugu cinema. Teja Sajja and the producers of Kalki were honored for their significant contributions to the industry. This recognition at such a prestigious event marks a major achievement for Tollywood, highlighting the growing influence of South Indian cinema on the global stage.
One of the standout moments at the festival was the screening of Hanu-Man, directed by Prasanth Varma. The film, set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, tells the story of Hanumanthu, a petty thief who gains supernatural powers from a fossilized drop of Lord Hanuman’s blood. This power leads him to a showdown with a self-proclaimed superhero, blending mythology, bravery, and human strength in an exciting narrative.
The presence of Teja Sajja at IFFI 2024 also symbolizes the increasing recognition of Telugu cinema. It was a moment of pride, especially considering how actors from the South were once overlooked at such events. Megastar Chiranjeevi had previously spoken about this lack of acknowledgment, but this year, Teja’s presence on stage highlighted the changing perception of Southern films.
Teja, known for his versatile roles, impressed the audience with his grounded approach and thoughtful interactions with the media. His maturity as an artist was evident, and it was a moment of appreciation for his work in the industry.
Additionally, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, was also announced at IFFI. Producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt confirmed that the film would begin production soon. They also teased Deepika’s character, adding to the excitement surrounding the film.
