I call myself Allu Arjun’s brother in ‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’: Ankith Koyya

‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’, fronted by Rao Ramesh, will arrive at the cinemas on August 23rd. Directed by Lakshman Karya, the film stars ‘AAY’ actor Ankith Koyya as the protagonist’s son.

Talking about his funny character in the family entertainer, Ankith says that it comes with a quirk. “While being born in a middle-class family, my character believes that he is Allu Arjun’s brother. By extension, he regards Allu Aravind garu as his father. The idiosyncracy is something even Allu Aravind garu finds pretty amusing. He inquired me about the same during the making of ‘AAY’, which he presented,” Ankith says.

Ankith’s Allu connection goes back to the days when he used to struggle for offers. “I come from a family of a teacher and a headmaster. Acting was never on the radar of my parents and grandparents. After I completed my Engineering, I pursued acting offers. Allu Arjun picked me up for an OLX commercial. He was impressed upon seeing my audition video. I have since acted in movies like ‘Majili’, ‘Johar’ (direct Aha Video release) and the recent ‘Satyabhama’,” Ankith says.

‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’ also features Indraja, Ramya Pasupuleti, and Ajay.
