The Andhra Pradesh government has stepped up preparations to tackle Cyclone Montha, which is making landfall along the state’s coast. Authorities have been directed to stay on high alert and ensure that no loss of life occurs in the affected districts.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held a video conference with Kakinada District In-charge Minister P. Narayana and senior officials to review the situation and ongoing relief operations. He instructed officials to maintain constant coordination and take immediate protective measures for public safety.
Key Government Directives:
- All district administrations in cyclone-affected areas have been placed on alert.
- Immediate precautionary and rescue operations must be undertaken to prevent loss of life.
- Residents in vulnerable coastal zones should be shifted to safe shelters without delay.
- Pregnant women, new mothers, the elderly, and patients must be identified and provided with medical care at secure locations.
- Relief and rehabilitation centres should be stocked with adequate food, safe drinking water, milk, and essential medicines.
- Security arrangements must be made to protect the homes of people relocated to cyclone shelters.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan emphasized that public safety is the top priority of the government and urged citizens to cooperate with officials and follow all safety instructions.
Minister P. Narayana directed field teams to conduct continuous monitoring in coastal areas and ensure swift response to any emergency.
The government appealed to the public to remain indoors, stay alert, and rely only on official updates from the APSDMA and district administrations during the cyclone period.
