‘Ghatikachalam’ is the title of an upcoming psychological horror thriller whose Teaser is out. The character played by Nikhil Devadula is at the centre of the story. The teen character is believed to be virtuous and well-disciplined by his naive father (played by ETV Prabhakar), but in reality, he has been manipulated by a mysterious force to indulge in vices. Is he possessed? Is it a mental illness of a certain kind? Is there a supernatural element?
Also featuring Samyu Reddy, the film is written and directed by Amar Kamepalli. Produced by MC Raju, its cinematography is by SS Manoj. Favio G Cuccurullo is the music director.
Speaking today at the Teaser event, Nikhil said that he is thrilled to be playing the protagonist. “How the life of a young teen, for whom his father is everything, takes a 180-degree turn is the premise of ‘Ghatikachalam’. A lot of filmmakers are doing content-based films. But their movies don’t get released in theatres for want of support. We are glad that producer SKN and director Maruthi are backing our movie. I made my acting debut with ‘Lovely’ many years ago,” Nikhil said.
