What happened to Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi? The cult hit that released seven years ago still holds a special place in the hearts of Telugu youth. When it first arrived, it didn’t carry huge expectations yet it went on to become a trendsetting classic. Though the film’s theatrical run was modest, it became a massive success on OTT platforms and later, during its re-release, drew impressive box office numbers.
Now, the long-awaited sequel is finally taking shape. The makers recently confirmed the project and unveiled the title poster Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi Repeat. Director Tharun Bhascker, who helmed the first film, is back to lead the sequel as well. The original cast Vishwak Sen, Abhinav Gomatam, Venkatesh Kakumanu, and Sushanth Reddy will all be returning. The film is being produced under the S Originals banner by Srujan Yerrabolu and Sandeep Nagireddy, with senior producer Daggubati Suresh Babu initially announced as a co-producer.
However, new buzz from film circles suggests that Suresh Babu may have decided to step away from the project. Though there’s no official confirmation, reports claim that budget constraints may have led to his exit. The sequel is said to be planned on a much bigger scale than the first part, and with cast remunerations having increased significantly since then, the production costs reportedly went up.
Despite these rumors, sources say the project is moving forward smoothly under the supervision of Srujan Yerrabolu and Sandeep Nagireddy. Pre-production is already underway, and the shoot is expected to begin soon. The sequel to Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is likely to hit screens sometime next year and fans can’t wait to see what new chaos and fun the gang will bring this time.
