If you have been waiting to catch ‘Double Ismart’ on OTT, here is the news. The action entertainer, directed by Puri Jagannadh, has arrived on Amazon Prime Video.
The film was released in theatres just three weeks ago. The short theatre-OTT gap shows how bad the film’s box office performance was.
Starring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt as a hero and a villain, respectively, the film also features Kavya Thapar, Getup Srinu and others. Ali’s comedy track has received online backlash for being cheap.
“‘Double Ismart’ is a character-based sequel to ‘Utaad’ Ismart Shankar. Puri seems to have decided to bank on a successful cinema and write a shit-story around the character Ismart Shankar with Hyderabadi old city swag and slang. Ismart Shankar undergoes a forceful memory/brain transplantation. In the first part, Shankar’s memories are replaced by a hero (a look alike good cop). In this sequel, his memories are replaced by the villian, Big Bull,” we pointed out in our review.
The film has music by Mani Sharma. It was distributed by PrimeShow Entertainment of ‘HanuMan’ fame.
