‘Devara’ is Koratala Siva’s magnum opus. It will arrive at the cinemas on September 27th in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film’s pre-release event will most likely see a major celebrity in attendance.
In a chit-chat with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Saif Ali Khan touched upon the story of ‘Devara’ possessing mythological elements (like sacrifices). What is more, the residents of a fictional village worship their ancestral weapons, probably because they deserve to be revered for protecting them for generations.
In recent times, films like ‘Kantara’ were enriched with divine and mythical elements. Even the Kateramma fight in ‘Salaar’ had those elements in abundance. Comparisons will be drawn between ‘Devara’ and those films/action blocks by the discerning audience.

Interestingly, the village where Devara and Bhaira (Saif’s character) live hasn’t been given a name. The film’s story takes place sometime in the 1980s through the 1990s.
‘Devara’ stars Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine. Anirudh Ravichander and Sabu Cyril are its music director and production designer, respectively.
