DCM Delivers Again: Kakinada SEZ Lands Set to Return to Farmers

By TeluguFunda / October 15, 2025

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan continues to make strides in fulfilling the promises he made before the 2024 elections. After taking swift action on the Uppada Beach erosion project within his 100-day commitment, Kalyan has now delivered on another key assurance the return of Kakinada Special Economic Zone (SEZ) lands to their rightful owners.

Major Relief for Farmers Along Kakinada Coast

In a significant move, Pawan Kalyan has set in motion the process to exempt stamp and registration duties for 2,180 acres of SEZ land, paving the way for their registration back to farmers. This long-awaited decision will benefit around 1,551 farmers across Tondangi, Uppada, and Kothapalli mandals along the Kakinada coastline.

Working in close coordination with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Deputy CM ensured that the long-pending issue reached a fair and practical resolution. With this, the government aims to restore ownership rights to farmers who had lost their lands to the SEZ project years ago.

From Promise to Action

The previous YSRCP government had issued G.O. No. 12 regarding the return of the Kakinada SEZ lands. However, implementation remained stagnant, and the farmers saw no tangible results. Registrations in their names were never completed, leaving the issue unresolved.

Pawan Kalyan, staying true to his word, took the initiative to translate the promise into action. By addressing the procedural hurdles and ensuring that the exemption on duties was approved, he has paved the way for a comprehensive and farmer-centric solution.

Strengthening Public Trust

This step marks yet another milestone in Pawan Kalyan’s governance approach clear promises, concrete actions, and people-first focus. The Deputy CM’s proactive measures are being widely appreciated by the local communities and political observers alike, signaling a renewed sense of trust and accountability in the state administration.

With the Kakinada SEZ lands now being restored to their original owners, the move stands as a powerful example of policy translating into real progress and of a leader committed to delivering beyond words.
