Data Theft Concerns Surround Telangana’s T-Wallet

By TeluguFunda / April 29, 2026

Telangana’s official digital payment platform, T-Wallet, has come under scrutiny following serious allegations of data theft and misuse. The issue reportedly stems from a dispute between the state government and a private firm that previously managed the platform’s technical operations.

Officials allege that the firm failed to hand over complete control of the system after its contract ended and may have attempted to access or divert sensitive user data, including KYC details and transaction records. There are also claims of financial irregularities involving public funds linked to the platform.

A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the extent of the breach and secure the system. Authorities are working to ensure that user data remains protected and that any vulnerabilities are addressed quickly.

The incident has raised broader concerns about data security, vendor accountability, and the risks involved in managing large-scale government digital platforms.
