Chasing 197, Kolkata Knight Riders never looked in control. Their batting lacked intent and consistency, eventually finishing at 160, handing Chennai a comfortable 30-run win.

This result gives Chennai Super Kings a much-needed push in the points table, with two wins now under their belt. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders remain rooted to the bottom, still winless after five matches.
