The much-awaited trailer of Toxic, starring Yash, is finally here, and it promises a dark, intense and action-packed gangster drama. Clocking in at over four minutes, the trailer is considerably longer than the usual theatrical previews, giving audiences an extended look at the film’s massive world, characters and production scale.

The trailer opens with Yash’s character Raya alongside a child before introducing the key female characters played by Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria. As the trailer progresses, Raya’s ruthless and ambitious side comes to the forefront, hinting at a character deeply connected to the dangerous underworld.

The biggest surprise comes with the introduction of another version of Yash’s character, who is reportedly connected to Raya as his son. This brings an intriguing father-son conflict into the gangster narrative and suggests that the emotional core of Toxic could be as important as its action and violence.

Interestingly, despite its lengthy runtime, the trailer keeps the main plot largely under wraps. Instead, it concentrates on establishing the film’s dark atmosphere, larger-than-life characters, elaborate production design and high-octane action sequences.

Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic is produced by Yash and KVN Productions. The film is set to arrive in theatres on August 26, 2026, and the trailer has already raised expectations for what looks to be one of Yash’s most ambitious films yet.

Following the massive success of Karuppu, Tamil star Suriya is all set to return with another promising entertainer, Vishwanath & Sons. Directed by Lucky Baskhar fame Venky Atluri, the film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead and is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14. Ahead of its release, the makers have unveiled the much-awaited trailer, which has struck the right emotional chord.

The trailer introduces Suriya as Sanjay Vishwanath, a professional pistol shooter leading a happy family life. However, things take an emotional turn when his newborn son is diagnosed with a serious bone marrow disorder. As the family desperately searches for a suitable donor, they meet Mamitha Baiju’s character, setting the stage for an unexpected and emotionally engaging journey.

Mamitha’s lively screen presence adds freshness and energy to the narrative, while her growing bond with Suriya’s character creates an intriguing dynamic. The noticeable age gap between the two becomes one of the key emotional conflicts, adding depth to the story rather than following a conventional romantic route.

The trailer suggests that Vishwanath & Sons will offer a wholesome blend of family emotions, heartfelt drama, humor, and meaningful relationships. Several dialogues stand out, hinting at the film’s emotional strength. Suriya delivers a mature and convincing performance, perfectly fitting the character, while Mamitha Baiju leaves a strong impression with her vibrant presence.

Director Venky Atluri appears to have crafted yet another emotionally rich entertainer after the blockbuster success of Lucky Baskhar. Backed by producers Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Studios, the film also features music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, whose background score further enhances the trailer’s emotional appeal.

With impressive visuals, touching emotions, and a promising storyline, Vishwanath & Sons looks ready to emerge as one of the most anticipated family entertainers of the season.

Punchline

Arun Matheswaran delivers a gripping mass action entertainer that introduces Lokesh Kanagaraj as a promising actor, backed by Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying music and an engaging screenplay.

Storyline

The story is set in the Chittoor region , where a notorious criminal gang attacks police vehicles and steals a cache of weapons. Devadas (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is one of the gang members involved in the operation. Things take a shocking turn when the gang murders the police officer investigating the case, forcing the department to launch a massive manhunt.

Senior officer Bhogaraju takes charge of the investigation to track down the gang. As the story progresses, Devadas’ past, his emotional journey, and the reasons behind his actions slowly come to light. The narrative also introduces Chandra (Wamiqa Gabbi) and Parvathi (Sanjana Krishnamoorthy), whose presence significantly impacts Devadas’ life. What is Devadas really fighting for, and can the police finally bring him down? The answers unfold through an engaging action-packed narrative.

Positives

The biggest strength of DC is Arun Matheswaran’s gripping screenplay, which keeps the narrative engaging throughout. The director successfully balances action with emotional moments, making the film more than just a routine commercial entertainer.

Lokesh Kanagaraj makes a confident acting debut and fits naturally into the rugged role of Devadas. His screen presence and performance exceed expectations, making a strong first impression.

Wamiqa Gabbi delivers a solid performance in a meaningful role, especially during the emotional portions in the second half. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, despite limited screen time, leaves a positive impact with her charming presence.

Guru Somasundaram stands out as the antagonist, and his face-offs with Lokesh provide several engaging moments.

Anirudh Ravichander is one of the film’s biggest assets. His songs are impressive, but it is the background score that elevates several key sequences, particularly the interval, climax, and emotional moments, giving the film tremendous energy.

Negatives

The film’s core story isn’t particularly fresh and follows a familiar template. Some of the police investigation scenes resemble other crime dramas, reducing the novelty factor.

The rivalry between the hero and the villain could have been developed more effectively. The antagonist’s motivation and obsession with Devadas feel underexplained, making the conflict less impactful than it could have been.

Technicalities

Sun Pictures has mounted the film on a grand scale with impressive production values. Mukesh G’s cinematography captures the rustic backdrop beautifully while maintaining a realistic tone. G.K. Prasanna’s editing keeps the pacing tight, avoiding unnecessary lag.

Arun Matheswaran succeeds in presenting a commercial action drama with strong emotional depth. Though the storyline isn’t groundbreaking, his execution and screenplay make the film consistently engaging.

Rating

(3/5)

Final Verdict

DC is a gripping mass action drama that marks an impressive acting debut for Lokesh Kanagaraj. Backed by Arun Matheswaran’s engaging direction and Anirudh Ravichander’s outstanding music, the film offers plenty of entertaining moments. While the familiar storyline and underdeveloped hero-villain conflict hold it back from becoming exceptional, DC remains an enjoyable commercial entertainer and a worthwhile watch this weekend.

Over the past few weeks, the Prime Minister has been sharing reels regularly, aiming to connect with Gen Z and Gen Alpha in a format that resonates with today’s digital audience.

His latest Instagram reel focuses on India’s vibrant handloom sector. In the video, Modi highlights the cultural and economic importance of traditional handloom products, emphasizing the role they play in preserving the country’s heritage and supporting artisans across India.

The Prime Minister also invited young citizens to actively participate in promoting the sector by sharing their favorite handloom products and ideas. The increased use of Instagram reflects the government’s broader effort to communicate directly with younger audiences through platforms they use the most. Short-form videos and reels have become an effective way to share messages quickly and engage millions of users online.

With these frequent Instagram updates, Narendra Modi appears to be strengthening his digital outreach strategy, using social media not only to highlight government initiatives but also to promote cultural awareness and public participation. Veteran actor Nagarjuna launched the trailer, adding to the buzz surrounding the film, which stars Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud in lead roles.

Directed by Uday Chauhan, Pallaburusu tells the story of an elderly father living in a village, managing his life independently despite his advancing age and health issues. What begins as a light-hearted conflict gradually transforms into a touching story about family relationships, dignity, and emotional bonds. The trailer effectively balances humor and sentiment, making the narrative both entertaining and thought-provoking.

Sudhakar Reddy delivers a sincere and natural performance that brings authenticity to the character, while Muralidhar Goud impresses with his restrained yet impactful screen presence. Director Uday Chauhan captures the essence of rural life with realism, allowing every scene to resonate emotionally with the audience.

The background score by Pawan Ch complements the film’s emotional tone, enhancing several key moments in the trailer. Visually, the film reflects solid production values, backed by Annapurna Studios in association with Epic Studios, giving the project a polished yet grounded feel.

UPI has transformed the way India pays. From roadside tea stalls and vegetable vendors to shopping malls and online purchases, millions of people use UPI every day without paying any transaction fee. Naturally, reports suggesting that UPI payments may soon become chargeable have created widespread confusion.

However, the claims circulating on social media do not present the complete picture. There is no proposal to charge every UPI transaction, and the government has not taken a final decision on introducing any such fee.

Why Is UPI Charging Being Discussed?

The discussion began after the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill was introduced in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Bill seeks to remove the legal restriction that currently prevents banks and payment service providers from charging a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on certain digital payment modes, including UPI.

The proposed amendment does not automatically impose charges. Instead, it gives the government the flexibility to introduce MDR in the future if considered necessary.

Will Every UPI User Have to Pay?

The simple answer is No.

According to government officials, small-value UPI payments and Person-to-Person (P2P) transfers are expected to remain free. Whether you’re sending money to a friend, paying your milkman, buying groceries, or paying an auto-rickshaw driver, these transactions are unlikely to attract any fee.

Officials estimate that nearly 95% of all UPI transactions would continue without any charges, meaning the overwhelming majority of users may never notice any change.

Who Could Be Affected?

The proposal mainly concerns merchant transactions exceeding ₹2,000.

For these payments, the government is considering allowing banks and payment service providers to levy a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) ranging from 0.25% to 0.4%.

Importantly, MDR is a fee generally paid by merchants for processing digital payments. Whether this cost would eventually be passed on to customers would depend on individual businesses and future government guidelines.

Merchants May Bear the Cost

Even if MDR is introduced, experts believe many businesses could choose to absorb the fee themselves rather than charge customers extra.

Large retailers often treat payment processing costs as part of their operating expenses, while smaller merchants will decide based on competition and customer expectations. As a result, many consumers may continue using UPI without seeing any visible change.

RBI Governor Urges Patience

RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra has urged people not to jump to conclusions, saying it is too early to comment on how any potential charges would be implemented.

He pointed out that maintaining and upgrading India’s world-class digital payments infrastructure comes at a significant cost. According to him, someone within the ecosystem ultimately bears that expense, even if customers do not directly see it.

However, he did not indicate that users would be required to pay transaction charges.

No Timeline, No Final Decision

Government officials have clarified that discussions are still ongoing, and no final decision has been made on whether MDR will be introduced, how it will be implemented, or when it could come into effect.

Until an official notification is issued, UPI users can continue making payments as usual.

Punchline

A fun-filled horror comedy powered by Varun Tej’s energetic performance and Satya’s impeccable comic timing, despite a few logical flaws and a weak climax.

Storyline

Kanakaraju (Varun Tej) is the leader of a traditional folk performance troupe in Penukonda, Rayalaseema. He falls in love with Chaitra (Ritika Nayak), a K-pop enthusiast working at the Kia plant. Just when their love story begins to take shape, Kanakaraju’s life takes a bizarre turn after he gets possessed by the spirit of a Korean man.

As the supernatural chaos unfolds, Kanakaraju, Chaitra, and his close friend Kisttappa set out to uncover the mystery behind the spirit and find a way to free him from its grip. The film combines romance, comedy, and horror while revealing the spirit’s emotional backstory.

Positives

The biggest strength of Korean Kanakaraju is its entertainment factor. Director Merlapaka Gandhi succeeds in delivering a clean family entertainer packed with comedy from start to finish without losing focus on the main storyline.

Varun Tej impresses in both shades of his character, bringing enough variation to make each avatar distinct. His transformation after the possession is convincing and entertaining.

Satya once again proves why he is among Tollywood’s finest comedians. His scenes with Varun Tej are hilarious and consistently produce laugh-out-loud moments throughout the film.

Ritika Nayak performs her role effectively, while supporting actors including Muralidhar Goud, Master Revanth, and the Korean cast add value to the narrative. The screenplay smartly balances comedy with the supernatural elements, ensuring the story never feels stagnant.

Negatives

The film prioritizes entertainment over logic, resulting in several scenes that require viewers to suspend disbelief.

The climax lacks the same energy maintained throughout the film and feels rushed. The visual effects during the final portions are below expectations and reduce the overall impact. A few scenes featuring violence also feel slightly excessive for a film that largely targets family audiences.

Technicalities

Thaman S delivers a decent soundtrack, while his background score effectively enhances the horror and comedy portions. Manojh Reddy’s cinematography stands out, especially during the Korean-themed sequences, which are visually appealing.

Editor Satyaa maintains a crisp pace throughout the film. Director Merlapaka Gandhi deserves appreciation for reviving the horror-comedy genre with entertaining writing, witty one-liners, and several memorable comedy blocks that keep audiences engaged.

Rating

(3/5)

Final Verdict

Korean Kanakaraju is an enjoyable horror-comedy that succeeds mainly because of its consistent humor, entertaining screenplay, and the excellent performances of Varun Tej and Satya. While the film stumbles in the climax with weak CGI and overlooks logic at times, it still delivers enough laughs and fun to make it a worthwhile theatrical watch. If you’re looking for a light-hearted entertainer with a supernatural twist, Korean Kanakaraju is a solid pick.

The much-awaited teaser of The Paradise has finally arrived, and it delivers exactly what fans were hoping for a raw, intense, and visually striking glimpse into a world filled with rebellion, violence, and survival. Director Srikanth Odela appears to have crafted a hard-hitting period action drama, while Nani surprises audiences with one of the boldest transformations of his career.

Playing the role of Jadal, Nani sports a rugged look featuring two long braids, a body covered in tattoos, and an intimidating screen presence. His fierce avatar, coupled with the teaser’s gritty visuals, instantly grabs attention and hints at a character unlike anything he has portrayed before.

The teaser opens on a blood-soaked note, portraying an uprising of the oppressed against powerful feudal rulers. With powerful dialogues questioning whether the government truly serves the people or the doralu (feudal lords), the film promises a gripping narrative centered on resistance, identity, and the fight for freedom.

Set in the slums of Secunderabad during a bygone era, The Paradise reunites Nani with Srikanth Odela after the blockbuster success of Dasara. The teaser successfully establishes the film’s dark and gritty atmosphere while introducing veteran actor Mohan Babu in a striking new appearance that adds to the intrigue.

Apart from Nani and Mohan Babu, the teaser also offers glimpses of Sampoornesh Babu, Kayadu Lohar, and Sonal Kulkarni, all of whom appear to have significant roles in the story. However, it is Nani’s commanding screen presence, the raw action sequences, and Srikanth Odela’s intense filmmaking that leave the strongest impact.

Adding tremendous energy to the visuals is Anirudh Ravichander’s powerful background score, which elevates every frame and enhances the teaser’s emotional intensity.

Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, The Paradise is officially slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 24, 2026. With an impactful teaser and a confirmed release date, the film has significantly raised expectations among movie lovers.

Allu Arjun is continuing to strengthen his presence in the multiplex business with the expansion of his AAA Cinemas brand. After successfully launching AAA Cinemas in Hyderabad’s Ameerpet and introducing the premium Allu Cinemas at Kokapet, the Icon Star is now bringing the popular multiplex chain to Visakhapatnam.

The grand inauguration of AAA Cinemas Vizag is scheduled for August 9, with Allu Arjun personally attending the launch as the chief guest. The multiplex will officially open its doors to moviegoers from August 10, when regular screenings are set to begin.

However, fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the star at the event may be disappointed. The inauguration has been planned as a strictly invite-only ceremony, with entry limited to invited guests and media representatives. No public access or fan gatherings will be permitted during the launch.

The decision comes in light of the tragic Sandhya Theatre stampede incident that occurred two years ago. To ensure the safety of everyone involved, Allu Arjun’s team has opted for a controlled event with enhanced security measures.

Meanwhile, the Vizag Police are reportedly making extensive security arrangements to ensure the inauguration proceeds smoothly without any untoward incidents.

On the professional front, Allu Arjun is currently occupied with the shooting of his highly anticipated film Raaka, directed by Atlee. The project is presently being filmed in Mumbai and is one of the most awaited pan-Indian releases in the coming years.
