The arrest of Aman Preet Singh on July 15th came as a shocker in Tollywood. He is the younger brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh.
It was in 2017 that the Tollywood drugs racket became a hot topic for a couple of months. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Telangana Excise and Prohibitions Department summoned celebrities like Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannadh and others. Almost all of them have been given a clean chit since then.
In the latest instance, the Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) and the Narsingi police are said to be in possession of the names of thirty customers of cocaine. The names were found with the four Nigerian nationals who were arrested along with Aman Preet.
Among the thirty names, a couple of them could be Telugu film personalities. This is a mere speculation at this point in time.
Seven years after the sensational drugs racket came to light in Hyderabad, a clean-up hasn’t happened in Tollywood. Or, so it seems.
