Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, who rose to fame with blockbuster hits like Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is back in the headlines following a legal development linked to a 2017 dispute.
According to reports, a court in Moradabad has issued a non-bailable warrant against the actress in connection with an event appearance and cheque bounce case. The complaint alleges that Ameesha had accepted payment to attend a private function but failed to appear. It is further claimed that a cheque issued later as part of a settlement allegedly bounced.
Reports vary regarding the disputed amount, with figures ranging from a few lakhs to over ₹14 lakh. The warrant was reportedly issued after the actress did not appear for multiple court hearings.
Responding to the reports, Ameesha shared a statement on Instagram clarifying that the matter is old and has already been resolved. She stated that a formal settlement deed was signed and the agreed amount was fully paid to the complainant. Calling the renewed allegations “false,” the actress said her legal team is taking appropriate steps to address the issue.
The case is currently under judicial review, and further clarity is expected following the next court hearing.
