Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Malayalam action thriller ‘I’m Game’ is reportedly facing a release delay. The film, which was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on August 20, is now expected to move out of the Onam release window.
The postponement is reportedly linked to the lack of strong promotional buzz surrounding the film. While the team had planned an Onam release, the makers are said to be looking for a better window that can give the film greater visibility and theatrical reach.
The August release period is also expected to be highly competitive, with Suriya’s ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ and Yash’s ‘Toxic’ among the major releases competing for audience attention and screen space. Rather than entering a crowded race, the makers are reportedly considering a later release.
Reports suggest that November is currently being discussed as a possible release window. The team is also said to be planning a more aggressive promotional campaign to build momentum before announcing the new date. An official confirmation, however, is still awaited.
Directed by Nahas Hidhayath of ‘RDX’ fame, ‘I’m Game’ marks Dulquer Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema after King of Kotha. The actor is also co-producing the film under Wayfarer Films.
The action thriller features Samyuktha Viswanathan and Kayadu Lohar alongside Dulquer, with Jakes Bejoy handling the music. With a new release window and stronger promotions reportedly in the works, all eyes are now on the makers’ official announcement.
