In a significant boost for the project, Sony Pictures Entertainment has officially partnered with the makers to distribute Ramayana across global markets. The collaboration is expected to give the film one of the widest international releases ever for an Indian mythological epic.

Why Was the Trailer Delayed?

Although the makers have not revealed the official reason behind the postponement, industry buzz suggests that the delay could be linked to the newly finalized distribution partnership with Sony Pictures.

Reports also indicate that the team may be planning something much bigger for the trailer launch. According to circulating rumors, a 3D version of the Ramayana trailer could be attached to screenings of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, allowing it to reach a massive global audience before its online release. Directed on a grand scale, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in lead roles. The film is produced by Prime Focus Studios in association with Monster Mind Creations, while Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG is handling the visual effects.

Despite the trailer delay, the film remains on track for its Diwali 2026 theatrical release, making it one of the biggest Indian releases of the year.
