Singer Mangli Faces Fraud Allegations in Hyderabad

By TeluguFunda / April 13, 2026

Popular Telugu folk singer Mangli, also known as Satyavati, has been embroiled in a high-profile financial fraud case filed at Hyderabad’s Panjagutta Police Station. The controversy centers on accusations of collecting massive sums through deceptive investment schemes promising high returns.

Case Details

A complaint by advocate Singapogu Subbarao alleges Mangli, her brother Shiva, and three others defrauded him and up to 150 investors of around ₹10 crore via Gokul Nanda Infra India Private Limited. The firm purportedly dealt in real estate, export-import, and trading, luring victims with microfinance-like promises that never materialized. Subbarao claims threats and intimidation followed demands for refunds, leading to charges under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 351(2) and 352.

Some reports escalate the figure to ₹150-200 crore, though the official complaint specifies ₹10 crore.

Counter-Complaint Emerges

Mangli filed a counter-complaint at Narsingi Police Station, accusing Subbarao of harassment, extortion, and spreading false ₹150 crore fraud rumors to defame her. She denies involvement, urging fans not to trust collections in her name, amid earlier reports of fraudsters exploiting her popularity.

Ongoing Investigation

Panjagutta police have launched a probe into the investment operations, victim testimonies, and potential larger networks. No arrests are reported as of April 13, 2026, with both sides’ claims under scrutiny. The case has sparked widespread attention given Mangli’s stardom in Telugu cinema and folk music circles.
