While on a recent talk show, actress Shriya Saran recalled the time when she acted opposite Jr NTR in the early 2000s. The film was ‘Naa Alludu’. Tarak by then had emerged in a big way with VV Vinayak’s ‘Aadi’.
In the interview, Shriya described the film’s producer as a sweet guy who ended up attempting suicide because the film’s budget had exceeded the planned figure. “When time came for him to clear all payments, he jumped into a lake in Hyderabad,” Shriya said, breaking into a laugh. She added that he was fine later.
‘Naa Alludu’, released in 2005, also starred Ramya Krishna and Genelia. The mid-2000s were not going well for Tarak. The producer of another film, ‘Narasimhudu’, too, faced heavy losses at that time. The stupendous success of ‘Aadi’ and ‘Simhadri’ made many producers queue up for his dates even though they had no proper scripts in their hands.
