Yash as Raya: ‘Toxic’ Teaser Hints at a Dark, Explosive World

Rocking Star Yash returns to the big screen after a four-year hiatus, following the massive success of KGF Chapter 2. The actor’s comeback film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious pan-Indian projects in recent times. The film is officially slated for a March 19, 2026 release and will hit theatres in multiple Indian languages, along with an English version.

In the run-up to the teaser launch, the makers have been steadily building buzz by revealing striking character posters of the film’s ensemble cast, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria. Adding to the excitement, the much-awaited teaser was unveiled today to mark Yash’s birthday.

Running close to three minutes, the teaser introduces Yash’s character Raya in a gripping and unconventional manner. It opens at a cemetery where a group of gangsters are performing funeral rituals. The tension escalates when a black car crashes violently into a tree, drawing their attention. An elderly man emerges and is brushed aside until he reveals a detonator, instantly shifting the tone. Intercut with this is an intimate moment involving Yash and a woman, as the gang opens fire on the car. What follows is a chain of powerful explosions that wipe out the group.

Amid the smoke and destruction, Yash makes a thunderous entry as Raya armed, cigar in mouth, and oozing menace. He finishes off the remaining attackers and punctuates his arrival with the chilling line, “Daddy’s home.”

The teaser makes a strong impression with its grim mood, relentless violence, and slick production design, signaling a raw and uncompromising narrative. Along with reaffirming the release date, the makers also confirmed that the film will have an English version in addition to its Indian-language releases.

Beyond starring in the film, Yash has also co-written the script alongside director Geetu Mohandas. Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, with music composed by Ravi Basrur.
