With soothing music, ‘Hi Nanna’ will give audiences a new experience: Music Director Hesham Abdul Wahab

Natural Star Nani Wholesome Feel Good Family Entertainer ‘Hi Nanna’. Shouryuv is making his directorial debut with this film which is the first production venture of Vaira Entertainment. While Mrinal Thakur is playing the heroine, Shruti Haasan is playing a pivotal role. Baby Kiara Khanna will be seen in another pivotal role. The film is produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM), Dr. Vijayender Reddy Thigala. The already released teaser, trailer and songs have raised huge expectations for the movie with tremendous response. The much awaited ‘Hi Nanna’ will be released on December 7. In this context, the star composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, who gave the sensational super hit audio of the film, shared the special features of ‘Hi Nanna’ in the press conference.

You got a very good name here with your first film in Telugu.. How do you feel about this reception?

Very happy. But there is still much to learn. Every film is a test. Every movie is a learning experience. New X-floor should be done. Hi Nanna movie helped me to ex floor myself.

Hridayam, Khushi, Hi Nanna.. Love, romance, drama are common in all these films.

It’s not just the music director.. the director, the writer, the editor.. They all focus on how to show something new. Love between a girl and a boy is the same. One accepts love, the other rejects it, conflicts arise, break up and meet again. But what is important here is how unique the story is told. Kadal, Roja, Mumbai, Ok Bangaram… The themes of these films may be similar. But the difference depends on how the director tells the story. Music is also like that. There is only one emotion when listening to love songs. Feel cozy and romantic. But who sings that song, what kind of lyrics and context there is, brings a new creation.

Darshan, Samayama.. Many people are comparing these two songs.. What about this?

It is natural to draw this comparison. Because Darshan, Samayam.. the first note of these two songs is the same. But the classic composition sounds more contemporary than the darshan. But the audience is very smart and updated. Ananda is likened to a vision. Both songs went viral (laughs).

What special precautions do you take to keep giving new tunes?

I will follow the director’s vision. When it came to ‘Hi Nanna’, I, our music team and director Souryuv tried to give what he wanted. Hi Nanna is a very soft romantic movie. The music is also soft. If you look carefully, the lighting, visuals, and music in Hi Nanna, all these are very pleasant and give peace to the mind.

Darshan, Khushi, Samayama, Ammadi.. You have a tendency to hook with one word in your songs.. Tell us about it?

Obviously I like going into a song with a word. Even before I did the Amadi song in this, I focused on that word. I specifically asked the lyrics writers. Also the songs of Gaju Bomma and Samayama are touching first with the words. I think that songs with such words that everyone knows and naturally uses will last longer.

There are no stanzas in the songs lately.. What is your opinion on this?

It is completely in the hands of the director. Hi Nanna, talking about the movie.. Even though I finished last week’s work, I still have this movie hangover. Director Souryav presented the songs brilliantly. I was surprised when I saw the movie. The pallavi at one place and the stanza at another place give us a surprise. The Samayama song style is very different. Glass doll song has two stanzas. Souryav has shown both formats very well. Every song is important in this. We have used advanced technology available in terms of music.

How did you feel when you saw ‘Hi Nanna’?

I am saying this with 100% confidence. Telugu audiences watch different films. There are many great stories here. In that, ‘Hi Nanna’ also makes a mark for itself. Nani’s performance is amazing. After watching this movie, I understood why Nani is called a natural star. Also, the characters of Mrinal, Baby Kiara… are touching.

Tell me about Odiyamma song?

There is a big party song in the story. Need an energetic number to match those visuals. That energy took some time to catch on. I recorded a tune and sent it to Souryav. He liked it very much. This is the energy we need. It was Shauryav’s idea to sing this song with Dhruv. Shruti Hasan also sang amazingly.

About Vaira Entertainment Production House?

Vaira Entertainment is a wonderful production house. 15 musicians worked for about 40 days in Hyderabad for this film. More than 20 other players participated in the recordings. The producers have made a very grand movie without compromising anywhere. All the music was done in Hyderabad.
