War 2 and Coolie Ticket Prices Stay Normal in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Approves Hike

By TeluguFunda / August 13, 2025

The ticket pricing drama for War 2 and Coolie in the Telugu states has finally reached a conclusion, bringing relief to movie fans in Telangana. On Monday, reports of steep ticket hikes stirred a storm among the audience, and social media users strongly criticized the move. Responding to the backlash, the makers rolled back the price hike in Telangana. However, Andhra Pradesh approved higher ticket rates for both films.

Telangana Rejects Ticket Hike Requests

Distributors requested a significant increase, with planned rates for multiplexes ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 550 and higher single-screen rates. The Telangana government rejected this proposal. Multiplexes in Hyderabad now charge Rs 295 (Rs 350 for recliners), while single screens charge Rs 175. Audiences welcomed this decision, especially because both movies are dubbed in Telugu and they considered such high prices unfair.

Bookings in Telangana began on Tuesday evening, with War 2 starting first, followed by Coolie. Theatres in Hyderabad will screen the first shows at 7 AM. Industry insiders believe the normal pricing will attract even bigger crowds to theatres.

Andhra Pradesh Allows Ticket Hike

In contrast, the Andhra Pradesh government approved an extra Rs 100 for multiplex tickets and Rs 75 for single-screen tickets for both films. AP usually keeps strict control over ticket prices, so this move surprised many. In cities like Visakhapatnam, Coolie bookings began around 8 PM on Tuesday, while War 2 bookings started later with fewer shows. AP also permitted a special 5 AM screening for Coolie.

Big Screen Clash on August 14

Both War 2 and Coolie will release globally on August 14, 2025. Ayan Mukerji directed War 2, which marks Jr NTR’s Hindi cinema debut alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Coolie, starring Rajinikanth with Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and a guest appearance by Aamir Khan.

With record numbers of screens, special early shows, and normal ticket rates in Telangana, audiences expect the clash between these two giants to draw historic crowds. In Andhra, fans continue to show strong enthusiasm despite higher ticket prices. Both films now race toward what could become one of the biggest box-office battles in recent Telugu cinema history.
