Tollywood stars Allu Arjun and Sreeleela are now facing serious backlash from the All India Students Federation (AISF) in Vijayawada. The student body has demanded the registration of criminal cases against the two actors for allegedly endorsing private educational institutions in misleading advertisements.
According to the AISF, both Allu Arjun and Sreeleela promoted several corporate colleges without verifying their educational standards. These promotions appeared in newspaper advertisements shortly after the results of Intermediate and IIT-JEE exams were announced in Andhra Pradesh. The ads claimed that top rankers were students of these colleges, showing images of the actors alongside these claims.
AISF Accuses Celebrities of Misleading Millions
AISF leaders argue that the false claims made by these institutions, supported by celebrity endorsements, are causing serious harm to students and their families. The organization pointed out that many institutions have been caught using the same student’s photo for different colleges with different ranks. This kind of manipulated advertising, they say, is nothing less than fraud.
By appearing in such ads, the celebrities are indirectly encouraging students to enroll in these colleges. AISF claims many students joined these institutions trusting the ads. However, after admission, they found poor hostel conditions, lack of basic facilities, and poor teaching standards. Some students are reportedly unable to return home due to financial and emotional stress.
AISF Calls for Strict Legal Action
AISF has demanded that the state government and police take immediate and strict action. They want criminal cases filed against Allu Arjun and Sreeleela for supporting institutions that are “destroying students’ futures for money.” The organization criticized the stars for earning lakhs of rupees through such endorsements while ignoring the consequences faced by students.
AISF leaders also questioned why celebrities are allowed to promote educational institutions without any background checks. They stated that famous actors have a powerful influence on the public, especially on the youth, and should be more responsible while choosing brands and institutions to endorse.
Why This Controversy Matters
This controversy raises serious questions about celebrity accountability in advertising. When stars promote products or services that affect people’s lives, like education, they must ensure the quality and credibility of what they’re endorsing. AISF’s demand for legal action may push for stronger regulations in celebrity brand endorsements, especially in sensitive sectors like education.
The issue is gaining attention across Andhra Pradesh, and many are now waiting to see how the government and police respond to AISF’s demand for action against the two Tollywood stars.
