Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom Postponed Again, New Release Date Likely in August

Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda faces another delay with his upcoming action-packed film Kingdom. The makers had earlier planned to release it on July 4, 2025, but they now aim for an August release instead. They will announce the new release date officially very soon.

Insiders revealed that the team reshot some scenes after completing the final edit. These reshoots caused a delay in post-production. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander also requested extra time to complete the soundtrack and background score.

Kingdom Latest Updates: Post-Production Slows Down Release

Director Gowtam Tinnanuri has spent a lot of time fine-tuning Kingdom to make the story sharp and engaging. After finishing most of the filming, the team found a few scenes lacking and decided to improve them. They made changes to tighten the pace and enhance the film’s overall impact. These updates, along with Anirudh’s pending music work, extended the post-production timeline.

Although the team previously confirmed the July 4 release, they now realize they can’t meet the deadline. The producers currently target an August 2025 release and will share the revised date soon.

What Does Kingdom Offer?

Kingdom brings Vijay Deverakonda into a brand-new avatar as a tough cop. The film blends action, suspense, and emotional depth, making it a unique entry in Vijay’s career. He stars opposite Bhagyashree Borse, with Satyadev and Koushik Mahata in important roles.

Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios came together to produce the movie. During early production, the makers used the title VD12. In February 2025, they officially named it Kingdom.

Shooting Locations and Technical Team

The production team started filming in June 2023. They shot across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kerala, and Sri Lanka. Girish Gangadharan led the cinematography department with support from Jomon T. John, while Naveen Nooli took charge of editing. Netflix acquired the film’s digital rights and plans to stream it after its theatrical release.

The team first scheduled the movie to release on March 28, 2025, and later shifted it to July 4. Now, with post-production work still underway, they aim to release Kingdom in August.
