Vayuputra: Chandoo Mondeti and Naga Vamsi Announce Animated Hanuman Film for Dussehra 2026

By TeluguFunda / September 10, 2025

Tollywood has taken a bold step into animation with the announcement of Vayuputra, an epic mythological film based on the immortal Lord Hanuman. The team unveiled the project with a striking pre-look poster and fixed its worldwide release for Dussehra 2026.

Unlike regular mythological dramas, Vayuputra will arrive as a fully animated feature in both 2D and 3D formats, opening a new chapter for Telugu cinema. Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi joined hands with Sai Soujanya’s Fortune Four Cinemas and Sithara Entertainments to back this ambitious project. Director Chandoo Mondeti, who recently scored a hit with Thandel, will lead the creative vision.

A Fresh Mythological Experiment in Tollywood

The huge success of Mahavatar Narasimha pushed filmmakers to explore mythological storytelling through animation. Vayuputra follows this path and goes even bigger by blending history, devotion, and cinematic spectacle to retell Lord Hanuman’s tale.

Chandoo Mondeti called the project “not just a film, but a sacred spectacle.” He expressed his excitement on social media, thanking Lord Rama, Hanuman, Sage Valmiki, his family, and his producers for helping him realize his childhood dream. The first poster shows Hanuman standing tall on a hill and watching Lanka burn, perfectly capturing the grand scale and spiritual depth that the film promises.

What to Expect from Vayuputra

The film will retell the timeless story of Hanuman, showcasing his unmatched strength, unshakable devotion, and the faith that inspired generations. The team chose not to use live actors and instead built the narrative entirely through animated characters and breathtaking visuals.

They will release the movie in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, giving it a pan-India reach. The makers aim to create an experience where “temples meet theatres,” combining devotion with modern animation technology.

Industry experts believe Vayuputra can set a milestone for Indian animation cinema. They argue that animated films now stand as strong contenders, as long as they carry emotional depth and compelling storytelling, even while traditional films with star actors continue to dominate.

A Defining Moment for Indian Animation

With Chandoo Mondeti’s visionary direction and Naga Vamsi’s production strength, Vayuputra promises to redefine how Indian audiences experience mythology on the big screen. If the film achieves its goal, it will open doors for more large-scale animated mythological epics in Tollywood and across India.

As anticipation grows, one thing remains clear, Vayuputra will deliver not just a movie but an unforgettable devotional journey for audiences eager to witness Hanuman’s story in a cinematic form never seen before.
