Actor Dilip Prakash is relatively new to the film industry. ‘Utsavam’, which arrives at the cinemas on September 13th, has him share screen space with seasoned actors like Prakash Raj. Also starring Brahmanandam, Nassar and Rajendra Prasad, ‘Utsavam’ has Regina Cassandra as the female lead.
“This film has respectable content. The Surabhi theatre group is the prime inspiration behind its story. The lives of theatre actors have been explored. There is a message but it is not preachy in nature. ‘Utsavam’ is laced with romance and family drama,” says Dilip Prakash, who has previously acted in a Kannada movie.
He is glad that Mythri Movie Makers’ distribution arm is releasing the film in the Telugu States. “Sashi of Mythri loved the content. Hombale Films is releasing the Kannada version,” Dilip says.
Also starring LB Sriram, Priyadarshi, and Aamani, ‘Utsavam’ is directed by Arjun Sai. Anup Rubens is its music director. “Ananth Sriram, Bhaskarabhatla, Vanamali have provided wonderful lyrics. Art Director Brahma Kadali’s work is detailed,” Dilip says, adding that his next movie is going to be an actioner.
