Uppu Kappurambu Trailer: Graveyard Crisis Turns Hilarious in Keerthy Suresh’s Rural Satire

By TeluguFunda / June 19, 2025

The official trailer of Uppu Kappurambu has finally dropped, and it already grabs attention with its quirky rural setup and sharp social satire. Keerthy Suresh and Suhas star in this film, which skips a theatrical release and directly arrives on Amazon Prime Video on July 4, 2025. It streams in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, with subtitles available in 12 languages, including English.

A Hilarious Village Chaos Over Four Graveyard Plots

Set in the fictional 1990s village of Chitti Jaya Puram, Uppu Kappurambu begins with a bizarre problem: the local graveyard holds only four burial spots. The villagers quickly turn this into a full-blown crisis. Keerthy Suresh plays Apoorva, a soft-spoken but idealistic woman who unexpectedly takes charge as the village president. This strange issue immediately tests her leadership.

To solve the crisis, Apoorva teams up with Chinna (played by Suhas), the clever but eccentric graveyard caretaker. As they work together, villagers begin to fight over the remaining graveyard plots, pushing the situation into chaos. In one hilarious moment, the village even plans to hold a lucky draw to fairly distribute the grave sites.

A Satirical Take Rooted in Rural India

Vasanth Mariganti writes the story, and Ani I.V. Sasi (known for Ninnila Ninnila) directs the film. The team uses humour to explore serious issues like gender bias, caste politics, and broken bureaucracy. They draw the title from a verse by poet Vemana, which reflects the film’s theme, how social systems slowly rot beneath the surface.

The trailer presents a colourful rural backdrop filled with well-developed characters. Keerthy Suresh stands out with her geeky new look and refreshing role. She plays Apoorva as smart, awkward, and persistent. Suhas adds depth and humour with his grounded performance and sharp comic timing.

Cast, Crew, What to Expect

Radhika Lavu produces the film under the Ellanar Films banner. The cast also includes Babu Mohan, Shatru, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Talluri Rameshwari, and more. Sweekar Agasthi composes the music, Divakar Mani handles cinematography, and Sreejith Sarang edits the film.

With its original plot, rural humour, and socially relevant message, Uppu Kappurambu offers a fresh and entertaining experience on OTT. The strong performances, clever writing, and rustic setting will likely connect with viewers across India and beyond.
