The Raja Saab Sequel Confirmed as Multiverse Storyline; Raw Footage Hits 4.5 Hours, Confirms Producer TG Vishwa Prasad

By TeluguFunda / August 6, 2025

Prabhas’ upcoming horror comedy film The Raja Saab continues to create buzz ahead of its release. In a recent update, producer TG Vishwa Prasad shared two exciting developments. First, the team shot over 4 hours and 30 minutes of raw footage. Now, they plan to cut it down to around 2 hours and 30 or 45 minutes for the final theatrical version.

Second, he confirmed that the film will have a Part 2. However, the sequel won’t follow the original storyline directly. Instead, it will introduce a fresh narrative within a multiverse or franchise setup, while keeping the core theme of The Raja Saab intact.

Makers Eye Sankranthi 2026 for The Raja Saab Release

The makers originally announced December 5, 2025 as the release date. However, since they still need to complete post-production work, including patchwork scenes and songs, they now plan to release the film on January 9, 2026, to align with the Sankranthi festival. TG Vishwa Prasad said that after talking with business stakeholders, they saw better box office potential during Sankranthi and decided to shift their focus.

Even though Bollywood distributors continue to push for the original December slot, the delay in post-production and the missing release date on Malavika Mohanan’s birthday poster strongly indicate a January release.

The Raja Saab to Clash with Big Releases During Sankranthi

If The Raja Saab arrives on January 9, it will compete with major titles like Jana Nayagan starring Thalapathy Vijay and Mega157 with Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara. Despite the crowded lineup, Prabhas’ presence is expected to help the film hold its ground and attract massive footfalls.

Powerful Cast and Creative Vision

Director Maruthi leads the project with a talented cast that includes Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Sanjay Dutt, who plays Prabhas’ grandfather. The cast also features Yogi Babu and Kiara Advani in important roles. Thaman composed the music, promising a blend of fun, spooky, and energetic vibes. The teaser gave fans a sneak peek into a horror-comedy experience similar to Bollywood hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Multiverse Plans Set the Franchise Apart

TG Vishwa Prasad confirmed that The Raja Saab Part 2 will not continue the same storyline. Instead, the team will build a new narrative within the same universe. This multiverse-style setup opens the door for different characters and storylines, allowing the creators to shape a unique and entertaining Indian horror-comedy franchise.
