By TeluguFunda / December 9, 2025

Tamil superstar and TVK party president Thalapathy Vijay returned to the public stage after nearly two months, following the tragic Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives. The actor-turned-politician held a massive public meeting in Puducherry today, and his speech was marked by an unusually intense and aggressive tone.

Addressing the gathering, Vijay said that while the Union government considers Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as separate entities one a state and the other a Union Territory people from the region see them as culturally and emotionally united. He thanked the Puducherry government for providing full security arrangements for the rally.

Vijay took a sharp dig at both the Union and Tamil Nadu governments. He criticized the Centre for failing to address Puducherry’s demand for statehood and urged immediate action toward granting full statehood status to the region. He added that Puducherry had shown better administrative efficiency and that the Tamil Nadu government should learn from it.

Turning his focus to the ruling DMK government, Vijay accused the party of prioritizing deception over governance. He alleged that the current administration is more interested in misleading the people of Tamil Nadu than in serving them.

Vijay’s fiery speech has already triggered strong political reactions, marking a dramatic return to public politics after the Karur tragedy.
