India’s most beloved entertainment destination, Prime Video, India’s most definitive report on the representation of women in Indian entertainment today, “O Womania!” The latest edition of the report has been released. Researched and monitored by media consulting firm, Armax Media, India’s leading entertainment journalism platform, Film Companion, and commissioned by Prime Video, the study gauged the journey of women across various dimensions of content creation, marketing, and corporate leadership in India’s entertainment industry.
In support of the report, industry leaders voiced their support and pledged to increase the representation of women in the entertainment industry. Supriya Yarlagadda, Producer & Executive Director, Annapurna Studios said, “At Annapurna Studios, we are the first studio and production company in the Telugu film industry to establish an ICC. We will continue our efforts to promote diversity in our productions and include women in the writing department. Our environment is constantly striving to support women in the workplace.” Said. Supriya Menon, Partner, Prithviraj Productions said, “I will continue to promote diversity in my projects.” Daggubati Suresh Babu, Producer of Suresh Productions says, “I always encourage diversity in my projects.” Shobhu Yarlagadda, Producer, of Arka Media Works pledges, “I pledge to continue promoting diversity in my projects.” Aparna Purohit, Head of Originals, India & South East Asia, Prime Video pledged, “I pledge to include women in the writing department and strive to have at least 30% female HODs in our productions.”
