Content creators and influencers from Telangana, please watch out! The Telangana State Commission for Women has issued certain strict directives that govern content creation on YouTube and social media. The directives have been envisioned in view of the recent Praneeth Hanumanthu issue blowing up. You can do ‘Dark comedy’ within limits, one of the directives says.
Propagating “misinformation” could land you in jail. You will be held liable for prosecution if, for instance, you criticize a government scheme meant for women’s welfare without backing it up with evidence.
You can’t create “conspiracy theories” that are unverified. If you are a content creator who produces political content, you better steer clear of speculating about female political leaders.
The guidelines are too broad. If you are unlucky, legal harassment could await you.
